100 SAN ANTONIO-HER TRADE,

stance, to quote, that, "a thing of beauty is a joy forever." This store oc-
cupies the large corner-room of the elegant new three-story stone build-
ing, on the corner of Soledad and Houston streets the room is 60 by 75
feet in size, with spacious entrances and windows on both streets. It is
completely stocked with the freshest and choicest grades of groceries,
canned goods, fereign and domestic fruits and nuts, the best grades of
teas and coffees, tobaccos and cigars—in short, fancy and staple groceries
of all descriptions. Four assistants are employed, and special care is used
in the prompt delivery of goods to customers in all parts of the city. This
business was established in the early part of the present year, 1885, with
ample capital, Aransas Prescott and 0. H. Wefing composing the firm.
They are in frequent receipt of fresh goods from producers, manufac-
turers and jobbers, and transact a business which will reach a large amount
annually, enjoying a liberal patronage from the city and surrounding
country. In its business policy, this house is liberal, enterprising and pro-
gressive, and its management reflects credit upon the city. We can not
close this sketch in a better way than by quoting their own address to the
public when opening. "Our constant aim is to furnish the purest and
best for the least money. We wage bitter war against adulteration of all
food products. No imitation or counterfeit articles ever offered for sale.
Our guarantee goes with every sale. No low grade goods kept in stock.
Should you favor us with your patronage, we will do all in our power to
              make it mutually advantageous."
              D. HEYE—Carriage Trimmer, Manufacturer' of and Dealer in all Kinds
of Saddles, Harness, Bridles, Collars, Whips, Leggings, Side Sad-
dles, etc.; No. 17 Commerce Street.
Among the many branches of business carried on in communities,
there are none that contribute more to the general convenience than that

of the saddler, harness maker and carriage trimmer. Especially is this
true in this section, where stock raising is the most important pursuit.
But taking trade generally, there are none that could transact business
